Sons of Liberty Gun Works – The Brand That Ends Your Search for the Perfect AR
Sons of Liberty Gun Works – The Brand That Ends Your Search for the Perfect AR.

Imagine this situation: You’re getting ready to buy a rifle. You search here and there, spending a lot of time on it. You have specific criteria. It needs to be an AR15. It would be great if you could have easy access to a wide range of parts at any time—everything from springs and pins to essential components like barrels, bolts, and carriers. Additionally, it would be fantastic if the manufacturer offered to teach you how to assemble and disassemble the rifle, break it down to its last part, and provide tips on what to focus on when replacing components like the “whistle” or the recoil system. To top it all off, the whole experience would come with a lifetime warranty for the selected model.
Now it’s possible
with Sons of Liberty Gun Works.
While searching for a new option for our premium segment offering, we came across Sons of Liberty Gun Works. The story goes that one of my friends, knowing that we were going to the Shot Show, started bombarding me with information about SOLGW, and he got me hooked on the topic. After months of preparation, scouring the manufacturer’s website, and reviewing all the materials I found, we finally flew to the States.
Sons of Liberty Gun Works is a company specializing in building AR-15 and AR-10 rifles. In 2024, they celebrated their 10th anniversary. They are a manufacturer that is rapidly growing and gaining more popularity in the firearms market in the United States. They are highly regarded above all for the quality of the rifles they produce and their open approach to the shooters who use them. You can find many reviews saying that their ARs, depending on the model, are on par with or even surpass the rifles from companies like BCM, Daniel Defense, or Noveske. The company builds rifles you can rely on when your life depends on it, and they won’t let you down.
We visited the SOLGW booth at the end of the first day of the exhibition. We were pleasantly surprised to see that despite not having a large exhibit, it was literally surrounded by visitors. This confirmed to us that the brand enjoys immense popularity and has a sizable fanbase, made up of people willing to drive halfway across the country and pay for an entrance ticket just to meet them, talk about firearms, take a picture together, and so on.
Finally, we had our chance to talk with the company’s owners, Mike and Kyle. After our first contact with them, our plan changed a bit. The idea of cooperating with Sons of Liberty, driven by our interest in the rifles they build, evolved into a project where importing firearms became a small part of what this brand will have to offer in Poland.
The first rifles are already with us. The next step involves parts. Sons of Liberty has an extensive range of components for servicing and modifying ARs. Everything from springs and pins, to triggers and recoil systems, all the way to bolts, carriers, and barrels will also be available through us. Ultimately, the manufacturer gives us possibilities that will allow AR users, you, to comprehensively rebuild your rifles—starting from replacing individual parts to using “upgrade packs” that will be available for sale.
The next point in this joint project is knowledge transfer. Apart from building phenomenal rifles, SOLGW educates interested parties on how to properly maintain and handle them. It’s not strictly about improving shooting skills, but rather about the technical aspects of working with firearms.
As part of their activities, the manufacturer’s team conducts 2-day Armorers Courses across the United States, teaching civilian shooters, law enforcement officers from various agencies, and military personnel the “technicalities” related to the AR-15 platform. These are, in fact, gunsmithing courses, during which participants are taught how to break down a rifle to its last component and reassemble it, paying attention to each part and understanding why a particular solution used in Rifle X is better than another found in Rifle Y. This is extremely useful knowledge for people who are not only passionate about shooting but also enjoy “tinkering” with their rifles and understanding how things work a little better.
What’s really great is that participants of these courses often bring their own rifles to learn, making modifications under the guidance of experts, receiving real-time tips and instructions on how to proceed. Isn’t that much better than relying on a YouTube tutorial? Gunsmithing courses are also a live testament to the company’s transparency in sharing information and knowledge.
Warranty Service
Sons of Liberty adheres to the principle that warranty conditions should go beyond the standard scope, and the best proof that the manufacturer stands behind its product is the lifetime support for users of their firearms. Barrel, bolt, carrier, gas rings, recoil system, lower receiver, etc. SOLGW believes that “the best warranty is the one you don’t have to use,” but according to their established protocol, all components that make up their firearms are subject to lifetime warranty replacement if the parts are completely worn out. These rules also apply with us.
Responsiveness
A significant difference between SOLGW and other manufacturers is that when you reach out to many well-known companies, you often get a response from a bot or a customer service representative. However, when contacting Sons of Liberty, you might find yourself receiving a reply from the brand’s owner, Mike Mihalski. This has happened multiple times, especially when a technical inquiry is made to the manufacturer. Sons of Liberty is also very open to feedback from users of their firearms and components, using it to adapt and meet the needs of the market in the future.
In summary, the presence of the Sons of Liberty brand heralds something entirely new for the firearms market in Poland. It’s not just about importing another AR, which many Polish distributors have proven they can do, but importing a firearm with a full backing from the manufacturer – spare parts, know-how, and the building of a community around the brand made up of shooters and technical “freaks.”
This article serves as an introduction to a series of posts that will focus on specific topics, detailing which models and variations of firearms are available, what components will be offered, the rules regarding the lifetime warranty, and provide more information about gunsmithing courses and what can be learned from them.
